About HDS

Family picture Just a typical guy who loves more than he can afford

My name is Humberto and I'm sure like many other guys (and girls) out there, I like many different things. Most of them though require money which is in short supply at my house so I can't have everything I want. This blog was created in order to write about those things that I would like to have. This page though is to let you know more about me.

I'm married to a beautiful wife and have a daughter and son who keep me busy. I work full-time and also do freelance graphic design work at home. I dabble a little in photography and videography and hope to one day own some decent equipment to expand on that. I enjoy playing video games, watching movies and hanging out with friends.

Technology as a tool

My wife has been working for a non-profit called Metro Relief. Their goals are to not only help feed the homeless and the poor but to provide resources for them to improve their situations. I have been helping them with their website and other marketing materials and have joined them a few times when they go out. I can see the impact that they are having in our community but also in the DFW. It is because of this, that I would like to do more for them. Technology has the capability to raise awareness of the people around us that need help. Pictures and video, I believe, are powerful ways to tell a story and provide a better look at the things that this type of organization is doing. Tools like a DSLR camera and camcorder are unfortunately things I currently don't own. That is why I started a fundraising page on GoFundMe.com called Raising Awareness with Technology in the hopes that I can raise the money to purchase those items. Most of the things that I will write about on here I don't really mind that I don't have but I'm hoping these two items will be something that I can get one day so I can use them for Metro Relief.

Connections

One of the other reasons I started writing this blog is to connect with other technology/things/stuff lovers out there. So please feel free to leave comments about the posts, I would love to hear what you think. You can also follow me on Twitter (@hdsaint79) to know when my next post comes out.

You can also sign-up to get an email when I post something.
